Program Costs
The cost for the three-week program is 3600.00 in US dollars. If the student is wishing to take the course for three college credits there will be an addition charge for guest enrollment at Madonna University. The dollar amount covers lodging at the abbey (double/tripe occupancy with some shared and private baths) breakfast and dinner for the duration, linen service, kitchen use, day trips, transportation to and from the airport, and all course work.

 

Travel Dates  This summers program will run July 28  thru August 17 2008.

 

Admission Plan, Summer Program: After February 1 2008 applications will be processed as they are received, until June 1st. Applicants who are accepted will be placed in the courses of their choice in the order their tuitions are received. Applications arriving after May 1st will be considered only if there is space available. There is a 250.00 deposit upon application with balance due June 1 2008. University Affiliation  The Abbey program  is affiliated with Madonna University in Livonia MI. Madonna is a fully accredited private university founded in 1937 by the Felician Sisters of  Livonia. Madonna’s goal is to provide men and women the opportunity for intellectual, spiritual and personal growth. Course Selection

Students will  select two  classes from the four courses offered to create a program that best suits their interest. Classes will be scheduled to best fit the needs of the student body, as day trips are planned with each course the final schedule will not be available until the study body is formed. This information will be forthcoming, as the departure date grows nearer and or no later than June 1 2008.

Accommodations: Food and Lodging

Student will stay on the historic Abbey Campus, in the town of Pontlevoy, at the ancient heart of France’s lovely Loire Valley. A small village situated minutes away from some of France’s most celebrated scenery, wineries, and châteaux. While the Abbey is centuries old it maintains the very latest in modern conveniences, high speed wireless Internet an entertainment facilities balanced by stunning gardens and handcrafted furniture. Meals will be provided in the morning and in the evening. There are several outstanding café and markets within walking distance of the Abbey where lunch and supplies can be provided.

Additional Costs
Additional costs not included in the tuition are the responsibility of the student. These include lunches throughout the week, airfare to Paris, phone cards/cell phones, and art supplies. Professors will email students a supply list of items to bring three weeks before departure.

Insurance
Students are responsible for their own health, theft, travel, and personal liability insurance. Written proof of health insurance coverage is required.

Purchase of Airline Ticket
The purchasing of an airline ticket is the sole responsibility of the student. Travel arrangements can be made with Jennings Travel, jenningstravel.com,as they are familiar with our travel schedule, or booked on line with any independent travel site. It is the mandatory that the student comply with travel dates in order to facilitate a smooth transition from the airport to the Abbey as a group.
